Royal expert explains why Prince Harry won't show children's faces in photos (2025)

A royal expert has provided an explanation as to why the public has not seen a clear picture of the faces of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's two children in recent years. According to The Sun's Royal Editor Matt Wilkinson, the issue spans back to how Prince Harry dealt with the media when he was a child.

Speaking on A Right Royal podcast, offering an explanation, the expert said: "My understanding of this or up to a certain stage is that Harry would much rather his children were not seen. He doesn't want them to be tapped."

He added: "He's got this idea that if he takes them outside of Montecito that there's a horde of us out there trying to take pictures of his kids – they're not by the way."

The expert also explained Meghan Markle grew up differently in California and therefore would not want to hide the children away. He said: "She doesn't want to hide them away and we've seen this haven't we more and more with the use of of Lilibet and Archie."

Both Archie, five, and Lilibet, five, are being featured more in photos on Instagram since Meghan re-joined the platform at the start of 2025.

Prince Andrew breaks cover for the first time since Virginia Giuffre's crash bombshell

Prince Andrewhas been seen for the first time after bombshell claims from his accuser Virginia Giuffre says she had just "four days to live" following a bus crash.

The Duke of York, 65, was pictured with a female companion looking stern-faced during his weekly horse riding in Windsor. It comes days after Ms Giuffre, 41, made bombshell claims she had suffered serious injuries after a horror crash in Australia.

Ms Giuffre claimed her car had been hit by a school bus and doctors had told her she would be dead within days. She posted on social media: "I won't bore anyone with the details but I think it important to note that when a school bus driver comes at you driving 110km as we were slowing for a turn that no matter what your car is made of it might as well be a tin can."

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s family ‘traditions’ since moving to America

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry moved to America five years ago, leaving behind both their royal life and the UK. Having been a prince since the day he was born, the move to California would have been an adjustment for Harry, 40, especially when it comes to leaving behind royal traditions he has grown up with, such as Christmases at Sandringham and royal events.

However, while life in Montecito may be different for the family, it seems that Harry and Meghan, 43, have settled in well. On their sprawling Montecito estate, it also seems like the couple have set up family traditions of their own with their children Prince Archie, 5, and Princess Lilibet, 3.
